VA Lounge access - SYD to Fiji

Hi guys,

I'm a Velocity Platinum flying from Sydney to Nadi airport and just wanted to confirm my understanding on the availability of lounge access from Sydney. I do recall previously that there was no access flying to Pacific Islands, but on the Velocity website these days it looks like a Platinum can guest in one other adult (3 if flying trans tasman) into the Air New Zealand Koru Lounge (plus any children under 12). Anyone had any luck with this?

There is no alliance nor FFP reciprocity on Pacific Island flights but outside the trans-Tasman alliance, VA contract the NZ lounge at SYD for all their international flights so if you are VA Plat you will have access but NZ Gold/Gold Elite do not have access. Unfortunately on your way back, VA don't contract the NZ NAN lounge probably because that lounge are only open before NZ flights.

I've used the NZ lounge in Sydney for a flight to Nadi as Platinum with no problems.
