Probably left this way too late as I am travelling in May...but is there any chance of getting a premium cabin from PER-JFK return in May? I have zero miles, so i'd have to purchase them. Don't mind if its a premium price to the promos, just would like to try an international premium cabin flight.

Avianca is giving me (in Y SQ) PER-SIN-FRA-JFK and vice versa on return for about $1900 which is cheaper than a normal Y ticket (PER-HKG-JFK), but gives me time to meet up with friends in Germany. If I cant find a premium class ticket then ill just book this, and buy Avianca Miles (have 0 also). Would have to buy 32k miles with this as its points + max pay.

This will be very difficult.

Heading east, your only real options would be PER-BKK-ICN/NRT-JFK and this may well go over the MPM rule.

Heading east, you would need something like PER-BKK-FRA-JFK making FRA your stopover. Good luck - AU to US flights are pretty tricky through this program. Look at beta.awardtravelr.com to check availability.

Thanks, will have to make a decision soon. Mmmm wish I bought miles/planned trip earlier!

I've just checked awardtravelr for leaving the week May 11 - 18 as an example. There's absolutely no J availability heading east across the pacific (plenty of Y options), but there are 18 all-J options that week heading to west to FRA. In order to keep your legs to a minimum I would pick PER-BKK-FRA/CDG/ZHR/LHR etc and just have your stopover at wherever you can get your second flight.

There's then heaps of 1-stop J flights to JFK - via VIE, BRU, WAW etc. No direct J. The VIE option on Austrian would be quite nice I would think.

You would prob have to come back the same way. Remember you only have a max of 10 legs to play with.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks, hopefully a USDM bonus offer comes out soon so I can save some money. Otherwise there is a CGK - JFK Y QR fare for 1296$ return which sounds tempting.
