Hi,

I'm looking at booking a flight from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. Three airlines seem to have cheap fares around the same price US Airways, United and Continental.

If you were flying - which would you choose?

After landing at LA I would be connecting to another flight to return to Australia, so the most important thing to me is that the flight would be relatively on time (I'd leave a reasonable buffer - just in case), and with me on it.

Who are you flying back to Australia with? If with QF, I'd be looking at AA. If with UA, any of US/UA/CO. If with VA or DL, take your pick.

My general choice would be Continental ; far better imo than either of the other options, though if you are flying UA to Australia, then UA may be able to check bags through if you take the UA flight

If on a separate ticket to the flight to Australia , then I would make sure to leave a good buffer of time.

It's not a very long flight, so in actuality it does not matter which carrier you choose. You'll be up in the air and back down about the time it will take to get a beverage. Just go with the cheapest and best fit to your current flight schedule.

After living for 26 years in the US and flying practically everywhere with every carrier, I can honestly say that most of the time it does not matter. The US doesn't have any full service domestic carriers anymore and from experience service has pretty much been the same across the board. The only differences I've noticed are with cabin crew as some seem to be taking the Virgin approach and having a "fun" cabin crew.

Personally I would look at Southwest if SC/Points aren't a issue. 2 free checked bags, plus a snack service is a major plus. IMHO however ymmv.

I would choose based on which terminal the domestic flight arrives at...

I fly back to LAX on US when "connecting" (separate tickets) to NZ... because US operates from the next terminal down.. so it's no distance at'all......
