Hi all,

First time poster. I'm booked to fly to coughet in 2 weeks time and found out that I have enough points to upgrade my return flight BKK-SYD with the points I have with my Miles&More account.

The problem I have found out is that since I'm booked in W class there is no way they will give me the upgrade - is there anyway around this?

What you can do is reissue the ticket onto the lowest upgradable fare (I suspect a V or Q class fare), for which you'd be up for the fare difference plus the reissue fee (generally $110 with Thai), and you'd then be free to upgrade the ticket.

According to Miles & More website, upgrades on TG from economy to business require booking in class Y or B. Cost is then 10,000 miles per flight per person.

T&Cs and award chart.

It will cost a lot to upgrade your fare to B class, you might even get paid business class for less than the fare upgrade.
