Unable to do online check-in for Domestic Sector of Int. Itinerary

Flying SYD-MEL-LAX-JFK tomorrow.

I know I can't do an online check-in for VA international flights but I didn't realise I couldn't do an online check-in for the VA domestic sector SYD-MEL.

I had the same experience last year with a VA ADL-SYD-LAX return flight.

It was explained to me that because the domestic and international arms of VA are separate systems I was unable to do seat selection or online checkin.

Thanks. I thought that these types of issues would have been resolved post-SABRE conversion.
