Have we got our alternative to 10 pts / $ for vouchers?

It's the season for giving and we're offering you triple Qantas Points* on all eligible domestic flights within Australia^.

Simply register and book an eligible domestic Qantas flight with a QF flight number between 30 November and 25 December 2015 to anywhere in Australia for travel between 30 November 2015 and 31 January 2016 and you'll earn triple Qantas Points.

Be sure to include your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number in the booking. All passengers in the booking must register separately to earn triple points.

Thanks again for your support. We wish you an amazing festive season.

Given that this is for domestic bookings only, all international bookings and domestic bookings for February 1 onwards this year misses out on bonus points.

That was my guess when I saw the email. But it's only for travel to 31 January - so won't get anywhere near the take-up and early cash benefit that vouchers had. So there may still be hope for the vouchers...

Be nice if it was for existing bookings ...

Agree. Most of my December and January flights are already booked. But it's triple base points, domestic only - so not that great a deal. And certainly not sufficient (for me anyway) to encourage any more flights or to cancel and re-book.

Thanks for the link - I registered myself and Mr LtL just incase we make any bookings. At least it's an option. No email though - was it sent out?

Spot on , why QF would think people would not have flights already booked for this period is beyond me !

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I received this offer by email but MrP didnt. But both registered now.
We have several business flights to book in next four weeks. So I am happy. A status reward would go down very nicely.

Particularly with the recent 95th birthday sale fares too.

Can anyone think of any reason why I can't/shouldn't cancel a couple of J flights already booked and simply rebook to take advantage of this offer? I've checked and the flights are still available for the same price.

No, as long as there's no cancellation or change fee. I did that once for a double status credit JASA - think I lost 3500 points for moving the other flights but worth it for an extra 280 or thereabouts SCs.

Alas MrsP - QF thought of that... from the email...
Bonus Qantas Points are based on the Base Rate which applies, or the Minimum Points Guarantee if applicable for the purposes of this promotion, does not include any Status Bonus that may apply for tier members. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other bonus offer by Qantas.

Which do you need or value more? points or SCs?

Perhaps you would prefer some other kind of wandering?

There's no cancellation fees, I remember reading on AFF once something about the booking computers identifying that the second booking being the same and simply reinstating the original PNR and as a result the original conditions. I'm hoping not.

Worst case scenario is no change - so may as well try.

Was a few years ago when I did it and honestly can't remember. I may even have called and just talked through what I wanted to do. Just remember it being a very low cost to re-book the identical flights (several J sectors) and get double status credits.

You're right Kermatu, thanks for pointing that out. I'll give it a go.
