Hi,
Looks like I may have a work trip coming up to Kazakhstan in a few weeks. Will depart and return to either SYD/NTL, and need to go to Astana.
I am a VA Plat, and QF Gold. Options are EY/VA via AUH, or QF/EK+FlyDubai via DXB. There may be others via HKG or BKK with a long Air Astana flight on a 757.
All in economy.
VA has a double points promotion going at the moment, so the points haul would be decent. VA status points will go to waste, as I paused my membership due to a recent baby arrival.
What are people's opinions?

Cheers
lp

Have been looking a this myself recently. Of your listed options, I would go EY/VA. Other options are Korean Air via Seoul or Turkish via Istanbul, neither of which would appeal to me.

Any chance of a Trip Report :) ? I am doing FlyDubai out of DXB in October, and going to Kazakhstan next year.

Air Astana is the only Kazak airline not banned by the EU, but it operates under a restricted permit - B757, B767 and A320s only.
