We are travelling to SIN on JQ *class and are supposed to connect to a Silkair flight that leaves SIN 130 minutes later.

I know that JQ arrives at T1 and Silkair leaves from T2 but will we be able to have our luggage transferred so that we don't need to go through customs?

From what I have read there is an airside transfer desk that is supposed to do this for you but will JQ tag our luggage for transfer to a carrier they are not affiliated with?

With JQ you'll need to go through customs. Occasionally if you are transferring to/from a QF flight then the luggage can be transferred but otherwise, there's no chance.

The Jetstar link for that page is here. ... although since my last viewing they appear to have formalised some interline agreements. There are a few interline partners now for JQ international provided the flights are on the one ticket but Silkair is not one of them.

Weird, under the old rules there were additional restrictions in Singapore but they seem to have gone...

Huzzah! JQ finally update that page, publish their list of interline partners and get rid of complex interlining rules for JQ/QF services.

And yes, because SilkAir isn't an interline partner of JQ, as flychrisfly said you will need to proceed through Customs, collect yor baggage, then check-in at T2 for your SilkAir flight.

Once you exit the baggage hall, easiest way to T2 is to take the lifts up to the Departures floor and proceed to the West end of T1 (take a right out of the lifts) and use the Skytrain.

Is 130 minutes enough for a T1->T2 connection with non-interlining luggage?

What is the cutoff time to check-in for SilkAir flight?

Hopefully all flights are on the one booking and you are covered for missed connections.

I would suggest going east instead, unless you want go to T3 before eventually finding your way to T3.
Don't worry though. Once you get to the departure floor, it's pretty well sign-posted. If, as you walk, you find that the row number of the check-in counters is increasing, you are heading in the right direction. And if you see the Qantas/BA counters, you are at the wrong-end. The skytrain is right on the edge of the terminal, and runs every few mins. The trip takes approx 30 sec. Note that there will be a bit of a walk to the SilkAir counters in T2, as it's down towards the far end.
