I'm flying in J on VA ADL-MEL-AKL on Wednesday morning with a 90 minute connection. Am I correct in thinking that I wont be given outbound express lane cards at ADL check-in and that I need to swing by the VA check-in desk at MEL international to get one on my way through? (I'm VA Platinum in J on VA metal and flight numbers the whole way.)

Shouldn't be a problem even if you aren't able to grab an express card as MEL is quite simple to transit DOM-INT.

The transit is easy (walk next door) but the immigration queue can still be quite long. An express card is worth it if you can get it.
