Needed to check a shipment before it was containerised in Nanjing last wekk so booked a flight with Shanghai Airlines Guangzhou to Nanjing at 08:10 on Wed Mar 2 - thought I might share a few pics with you guys.

Firstly there is the dedicated VIP / First Class / Business Class check-in counter.

Then you are confronted with the never ending long queues that are everywhere in China.

This is what is so amazing about China - 1.4bil people and half of them don't have jobs - but nobody would ever think of employing extra staff to reduce queue lengths.

And now a couple of pics of the fabulous spread of food available in the VIP / First Class Lounge

The VIP / First Class Lounge is divided into 2 sections - China Southern side and others on other side - I was not in China Southern side but I would imagine much the same

And just in case you enjoy a quality cup of coffee.


At this point in time I was instructed by lounge staff to stop taking pics - so I headed outside. Downstairs I came across the area - notice something odd?


No glassed in area - no doors - just let that smoke waft out into the rest of the terminal - welcome to China where near enough or close enough is always good enough.

Then it's time to board - this is only a 2.5hr flight so brunch served very quickly. Now this next picture is dedicated to Princess Fiona - you around Princess - remember you said you had never seen certain wine labels in Dan's - this one in particular.


Tastes like sheep dip - kicks like insect repellant - but I would drink anything - when in the air do as.........whatever.

And the full meal set - maybe not quite what you would get on SQ, QF or CX

Well we at least got there in one piece - First Class on Chinese domestic not quite what most of you guys would be accustomed to - still it beats the hell out of sitting down the back - now that is an experience.
