Just came across this list of top pet hates for Australian flyers, not the animal sort....

Surprising thing people hate most about flying

Looks like respondents could vote for more than one option.....

What do you think is missing from the list?

Sitting next to a smelly O/H luggage hog, sneezing and coughing whilst reclining their seat while eating , incessantly talking and variously snoring and farting on a SYD-LHR flight could be seen as a good reason to fly J IMHO. :)

Would have though queue jumping would be higher. Plebs in priority lanes is a trigger for most FFers.

:p

How would AFFers feel about the person in the row in front/behind pulling up/down your window shutter without asking?

I do this all the time.

Why would I ask the person behind me if I can pull the shade down on a window you cant see out of?

Same with reclining on short trips, I dont ask permission. The seat is made to recline, I dont full recline but I do recline (slowly) a little bit. Unless JohnK is sitting behind me one day, then Im slamming my seat back with my phone app blaring trumpets :)

Lol, interesting read of the question Denali :)

Try this:- How would you feel about someone else pulling up/down your window shutter without asking you?

If the person BEHIND or in FRONT of me pulled down MY window shutter - I would put it back up so quick their head would spin ! I like to look out the window when I fly :) !!

Ah. Someone reaching forward and pulling down my window shade? Is it the only shade open in a dark cabin?

I put shade down during day flights, especially if sun on that side. If someone raised it I would close it. If they did it again, they might find water accidentally splashed on them.

Whilst I have tolerance for babies I have absolutely zero tolerance for kids screaming and running amok on flights.
I pray for the day when someone brings in Adults only flights. Have only ever really lost my temper once on a flight and it was due to a fair little mongrel behind us

I've had it happen. Was enjoying the view out if the window right next to my head when suddenly it was shut by the person behind me. My reaction was enough that they put it right back up again and apologised.

I must confess that aside from take off and approach and landing, there is generally little to see or hold my attention for long when cruising at 35,000 feet up. Maybe a polar flight or a view of previously unseen mountain ranges would be the exception.

Like that stunning sunset with Mont Blanc poking above the clouds? One of our most memorable sights, and no camera or smartphone! :)

+1 vote for jase05 for uncontrolled children
Add to that: parents who are ignorant of their uncontrolled children

Other frustrations that take the edge off the flight, and can accumulate....:
Flight attendant refusal to address an obvious passenger issue (like those listed in OP) when the passenger attempts have failed
Heavy fingers on the seat-back touch screen
Passengers who use the aisle seat head rests as stabilisers when walking up/down the aisles
