Hello there,

I will achieve QG status on a flight to Tokyo NRT later this month, returning to SYD a couple of days later... as I obviously won't have a QG card to show on my way back, would I still be able to access the Qantas lounge there? I believe it's not operated by Qantas which I guess could create a few problems to get in... and yes I'll be in Economy :(

Thanks
MP

There is a QF lounge in the satellite terminal which isn't too bad. Most prefer the JAL lounge but there are more than one-the main lounge before getting on the train to the satellite is the best one.You are also entitled to use the AC-but if you are on the night flight it might not be open-i actually do like the AC as all the americans are in the JAL lounge so often quiet.
When you check in with QF your BP should have your new status so able to access any of the OW J lounges.

Was there in September. JAL lounge is much better than the QP. Has excellent katsu curry, beer machine and a manned bar.

I know some airports give a lounge invitation card at check-in, if you haven’t got your card, even though it should have the status printed on the boarding pass, could asking for an invitation help ease worries?

The beer pouring machine is also available in the QP in the satellite terminal. Well it was in May, so nothing special on that one. Manned bar = meh! especially if you're using the beer pouring machine.;)

Hot food is better in sakura lounge by far.

Actually i think their curry is rather ordinary, mrsdrron doesn't eat the stuff anyway and beer pouring machines are passe if you drink wine.;)

I was in the JAL lounge last Saturday and agree with you about the curry.
Don't forget the free massages (book as soon as you get there) and those great massage chairs! :D

I was without QFF card one trip HKG-SYD QF flight, at QF check-in I asked if I could go into the CX lounge and was told only if I have my card with me, I wasn't game to try so headed to the QF F lounge who just scan your BP.

Would be interested if anybody has made it into a OW lounge were a QF lounge was available without a QFF card? Especially CX?

I got into the wing in hk as a nb flying j.

One main issue with the QF lounge is that it is very often full to over flowing.

That would be because you had a J BP. Different circumstances.

There is also the CX lounge which is I think decidedly average.

If you have access to F Lounge, then the JAL F Lounge has the biggest and best whiskey selection I have seen in a lounge (I know the LH FRA F Terminal is good too, but I have not been there myself). I don't know what they offer in the J Lounge though.

I had some time up my sleeve when i was in HKG last month.....i popped into the QF, CX, and KA lounges- all with the boarding pass....the first response was always "The QF lounge is blah blah....then i had to tell them i was OW-Emerald and they said "Welcome Sir"
