To Tattoo or Not To Tattoo

Not at all, I've heard it's painful and frankly they look ugly.

This will sound sexist but I especially dislike them on women. Would I tell them? Of course not. Their body. their choice but that's just my opinion.

I do like some tattoos but the problem is they don't look good when the skin gets old and wrinkled, that's why I'll never do one myself.

Yeah I love my tattoos... This is my favourite...

Ok that's a lie, I don't have any tattoos. I can appreciate the artwork of some, but can't imagine I'll ever get any....

Why would anyone want to mutilate their body in this way?

Most tattoos look awful. Full arm tattoos and now women getting thigh tattoos and matching calf tattoos.

I never understood the need to get tattoos. And I don't want to understand either. To each their own.

Temporary tattoo may be useful for anyone keen on trying.

NO!!, getting a tatoo was & is on our 27 & 24 year old off-springs list of "dont do, or incur the wrath of mum" since they were kids.
1. Dont do drugs
2. Dont get pregnant (unless planned)
3. Dont get a tatoo
4. Dont do anything that would bring the police to our door.

So far they have made their parents proud.

Jeez I hate tattoos - male or female - I just do not understand why anybody would get a tattoo? Evolution or that God dude created the most perfect specimens of all time in the form of the male and female body - why desecrate them with tattoos - I just do not get it.

Earrings / body piercings no problem - take them out and the whole grows over in no time - but tattoos so damn ugly.

I would add:

5. No body piercings

That article is a pretty good example of what not to do if you decide to get a tattoo.

I have tattoos which I love. I really don't care if people don't like them because I didn't get them for them.

I've been using the same artist for a few years now (after the 2 years spent on his waitlist). Mine certainly weren't done on a whim.

Exactly the same; I've got one that means something to me and I won't be judged for it.

I have exactly the same attitude as boomy. Seen enough baggy and saggy tattoos in my line of work to put me off completely but each to their own.
Some really attractive people these days with very attractive body art.
One place I'm not a huge fan of is visible face/neck tattoos.

Another who has seen some incredibly droopy tattoos.

The weirdest ones I saw were on a young couple in Bundy-she was tattooed all on her left side,he on the right. As I passed them I turned around. Each had one cheek of their shorts removed so that you could see that even the corresponding cheek was tattooed. This behaviour suggested they were not doing it for their own special reasons.

I am a devastated Mum of a daughter who has tattoos.(30 years old) ..the first ones were hidden and over the years more and more are on display she now has two full sleeves !! I have voiced my disapproval but fell on deaf ears, she must have too much spare money I think and just as well she lives in the UK, at least I don't have to look at them except for when we go see her or when she comes home. While travelling around the world earlier in her teens and twenties, we went through the piercing too of the tongue/nose - they are now gone but hate them all with a passion. My son is in the music business and not a tattoo or piercing in sight, his fiancé though has a few - seems girls are all for getting them done. Will be interesting to see how they are in the their 50's and 60's and beyond

I have 1 tattoo, on my rib, so it's not visible unless I'm in a swimsuit. Why? Because I got it for ME. Not for anyone else. (For the record it says "Lumos")

I don't like visible tattoos as a general rule BUT I respect the right of others to have them. It doesn't effect anyone else, unlike "rights" such as smoking in public (that DOES effect others). I don't judge those with tattoos, either. Often people covered in them are the nicest, most genuine people.

And I'm with TomVexille.
