There's a ton of places on Bath Road just near Heathrow. Can be reached on a free bus I think, or at least on the Hotel Hoppa (or name similar to that). The latter might incur a fee?

Anyway - there's the full range of hotels, from Ibis to Sheraton and Renaissance etc.

If you have a even a mild interest in planes the Heathrow Renaissance has 'runway view rooms' - they have an unobstructed view of the full length of the runway (which seems no further than about 20 yards away. You can literally see the pilots' faces on the flight deck). Amazing views of the aircraft and airport. And about 100 different airlines and aircraft types (even non-enthusiasts get a kick out of it).

Picking a random date non-runway rooms are £80 and runway £96, but I'm sure Iv'e seen it cheaper. Otherwise rooms at chain hotels like PremierInn start from £40 a night.

The Hoppa is about 9 pounds return, however be aware it doesn't run that frequently which was super annoying arriving late at night (as your times suggest would apply).

Thanks for the info. However, we don't want food et al, just a place to sleep for a few hours so we decided on the Premier Inn Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 since it's in walking distance of terminal 4 & thus the internal Heathrow transport can be used to go from/to whatever terminals are required. We arrive in T3 & depart T5.
