Colleague and I are debating what date range one needs to include on a travel insurance policy.

Casewhere, you depart Aus on 1st of the month, and return flight leaves US on 6th of the month, but doesnt land in Aus until the 8th. Do you apply for cover from 1st - 6th or 1st - 8th?

Yeah that's always been my approach end the end date as the day you are due back in Australia. So easy for a flight that is due to depart late night to slip into the next day.

Most years I only do one overseas trip of less than 6 weeks, so an annual policy has generally not been cost effective for me. I don't bother with TI for domestic travel, happy to reply on CC TI for that as medical always covered by regular insurance and medicare (of course for work travel i'm covered by company policy).
