The view from my "office"

We went to North Coogee (pronounced Koo-jee here) Dog Beach about 5 km south of Fremantle for an evening picnic. The three dogs, none mine, had a good run and splash before we had the meal and then we waited around for sunset. It was my 4 week old grandsons first picnic - but I don't think he will remember much of it. It was a treat organised by my brother and his wife for the mother of my sons partner. She is on a six week visit from Taiwan to be with her daughter who has just had her first baby.

The sun setting over the Straggler Rocks. Carnac Island is just to the left and Garden Island, with its Naval base is out of frame further to the left.

When I was working in Sydney one of my clients asked if I was from WA (and I said no SA) and he said well you don't know how to pronounce Coogee correctly

We moved to a new office on Monday, but poor internet connection did not allow the up- or downloading of pictures. It is still very slow.


How we got here, embarking in Luxor, is a long story. Just a few details: suitcases had to be out by 3:45 am! On the bus by 4:45, arrived at CAI domestic departure hall 2 at 5:50 for a 7:30 departure with Air Cairo (SM). Total shambles as several plane loads of passengers tried to check in with only two agents. Got through security just after scheduled departure, but actual departure was luckily delayed to 8:10.

We scored 2D and 2E bulkhead seats. There was no mention of having to place all hand luggage in the overhead lockers during takeoff and landing.

It rained every single second I was awake yesterday... so when I saw a little gap in the clouds this morning I went for it. Timed beautifully as it started raining just as I was finishing my hike. Phew! Mrs FB did always say I had my head up in the clouds

It rained every single second I was awake yesterday... so when I saw a little gap in the clouds this morning I went for it. Timed beautifully as it started raining just as I was finishing my hike. Phew! Mrs FB did always say I had my head up in the clouds

Getting ready for St Paddy's Day (which of course will be raining all day!). I was told this pub does the best pint of Guinness in town and after having last tried it 10 years ago and saying...... no thanks, not for me, this time it tasted alright. Either my pallet has evolved or they do indeed do the best pint around

Yes! My new phone (Samsung S23+) has some weird suggestions and often overwrites real words with incorrect ones.. and mistyped words often not with the most sensible correct word. My OnePlus was much better in that regard.

The view from yesterday's office, driving from Co. Kerry back to Co. Cork (West Cork area) - takes you up over the Kerry Highlands, bit of a hairy drive and nearly a few head on meets with other cars coming from the other direction (narrow roads, single lane, blind corners etc ...... #standard) but stunning scenery along the way. Started with Ballaghisheen Pass and and continued through Ballaghbeama Gap before popping back out onto the N71.
