No we weren't interested in any food or refreshments having had a late breakfast.We in fact ended up having Lunner at 1530 back in North Ryde.
We did stop on the way back though.The Baha'i temple.Driven past it hundreds of times but never stopped before.Beautiful and peaceful.

After a week of a campervan for the first time for MrsK, I booked a AirBnB with a large bath and a view of Hobart as a recovery exercise for our final night in Tasmania

Meanwhile, a perfectly adequate office view for the next 3 nights ( Strahan Village - about to be owned by the NRMA).



I think that’s my ride on Monday coming in. Unfortunately the weather is set to go bad ( it IS the west coast, after all!)



Now, I don’t often go in forthe PERfect malarkey, but Ocean Beach near Strahan when it’s 28 degrees comes close

The Iron Blow was the first deposit discovered ( Mt Lyell’s massive deposits came later) and led to both rags and riches. A fairly new lookout





I spent a lot of time on the west coast as a young geo ... no camping or Cascade Green on this trip!!

That's ok. You can buy me a drink at the Canberra Dinner, if you can make it.

After our brief stay in Strahan, we'll certainly be back, and the Strahan Village looks like a good place to use as a base. The area, while rugged is beautiful and had a lot to offer. I certainly like to go on the West Coast Railway.
