For the information of our reader, the drive into Steep Point is quite a long way and involves some reasonably serious 4WDriving - corrugations, sand, rocks - but it's a good fun drive. It was a full day's outing from Denham (aka Shark Bay).

We took the Troopy, me driving. I was conscious of a 4WD Emergency Services expert sitting in the passenger seat. I don't think I disgraced myself - err... apart from one back-up....

Tempted to post this in the "feet on bulkhead thread"... View in a narrow but very busy London pedestrian tunnel in which I saw two near misses (near hits?) of young children.

If you miss a flight today, or run late for any reason, you have a legitimate excuse: The clock at Greenwich that keeps the time for the whole planet is broken.

Blue plaque in Winchcombe in the Cotswolds- many AFFers should be grateful to this man

Isn't a naturalist someone who visits nude beaches? I guess when you have too many bubbles, just about anywhere is in danger of becoming a nude beach!

Wasn't champagne an accident? Discovered after a sea voyage delivered "off" French wine to Great Britain, or did I just imagine that story after too many glasses of the stuff?

In England? Brass monkeys.

No that was "port wine" and Madiera. (Well, actually for champagne, the climate in the champagne region was the original cause where the yeast would go dormant in the winter then restart the fermentation in spring/summer leading to dreadful occurrence of bubbles, hated by the French but apparently loved by the English! Go figure.)

Hmmm. Rugby either you are following me or I am following you. My pics from Devonport the other day. In between meetings shot over the harbour for the first time, but didn't have time (nor to be honest - the energy) to walk up the hill!

Looks like a chopper perspective?
I wish! It's from the cable car from Canary Wharf to Greenwich.

The photo from my phone doesn't do it justice. It a very good view of LCY. As you cross the extended centre line it makes you wonder how it was ever allowed. From where that pic was taken it's 1.2 miles to the threshold of RWY09 (that's 1.9km to those of us who drive cars).

At its highest point the cable car is at 295 feet. This is to the right of the extended centre line.

...

They didn't have one of those when I was there. Mind you there was a lot London didn't have then...mind you, you could rub shoulders then with rock icons whilst shopping at a Shephards Bush Indian supermarket and no-one would think it unusual.
Anyone remember Stewie Spears? C'mon all you K1's.
