Haha - you’re just showing off the UPG after all that nightmare talk the other day. 😜

Well, if it makes you feel any better, the trip to get to TLV turned to excrement. Another case of different people at QF telling me different things.

Several hours before departure I'm noticied of a 90 minute delay. The connection at LHR to TLV gives me 3 hours. So now we're down to MCT. I call QF to delay the chaffeaur drive pick up time and ask about this. Car pick up time is moved, but the operator tells me the car company isn't happy about the last minute change, like somehow this is me being picky. Regarding the MCT, they say I should still be good. Main issue is the next BA flight is at 9pm. There is a LY flight at 2pm and told I can possibly change to this.

Couple of hours later another delay to the departure of QF9. On the phone to Qantas again to push back the car pick up again. At this point they tell me I can either move to the LY flight or get the check-in staff at PER to do it. Just in case there is a plan to make up time. I opt to sort this at the airport.

Get to the airport and check-in. No, they are unable to move me to the LY flight even though it's not obvious there is no way I;ll make the connection. They tell me I need to speak to the ticketing desk. The check-in agent calls and tells me I've already been moved to the BA flight at 2pm. Problem is I know there is no 2pm flight, just the LY one. Turns out they've confused me with another pax. Now I'm told that QF cannot move me to LY because its two seperate tickets on the one PNR and they can't touch it. Directly contradicting what two different phone agents told me. They tell me my only solution is I cannot be proactive and deal with it when I get to LHR.

A few hours before landing in LHR, the CSM comes to me to tell me I've been rebooked. On LX to ZRH and then LY to TLV with a one hour connection in ZRH. So much for QF not being able to sort it out in PER. What was really a bit silly is the connection to the LX flight was still less than the MCT of 90 minutes at LHR. To make matters worse is the CSM told me someone will meet me at the air bridge with my new boarding passes. Except we were given a remote stand at LHR. At the bottom of the stairs I needed to be proactive to find out which terminal I needed to go to as no one had my boarding passes. T2 for the record. Mad rush to get there and to the LX desk. Get my boarding passes and told my bags would go through to TLV.

Get to ZRH and quick stop in the Asprire lounge for some food. Then on to the LY flight. Just as they're telling us to turn off the phones I get a call from a Swiss number. It's the airports lost and found telling me they have my checked bag. I point out I'm on the flight and my bag should be with me. A hostie tells me nothing can be done now and the bag will be sent through on the next flight. I'll need to log this in TLV.

TLV was a bit of a zoo and took me about an hour in line to get the lost bag logged. Bag arrived the next morning and had to go pick it up myself or wait another 24 hours. So all in all, still a nightmare trip.

Ya know - I'd be just, 'stuff it ...cross TLV off, not going there; too hard'.
