Just to show we are not total points junkies we have avoided the Accor properties and staying at totally unaffiliated properties here in NZ.This stay was picked from the website and the response from emailing the manager. We have not been disappointed.Good position looking out at the water, close to a beach with several restaurants nearby and just a short commute into Nelson proper.Unlike the MVH this does have a flat screen TV and internet access here is unlimited at $NZ10 a day-at the MVH was limited to 100mb.Still no tub and in the bathroom a new style basin-looks good but totally impractical.Reasonably new, spacious and we have enjoyed the stay.So some pics-

Now again this was over Christmas so $NZ190 a night.Out of school holidays $150 for this 1 bedroom apartment. We would stay again if in the area.

We spent a couple of days in the Grand Mercure Nelson and one night in Mercure Picton, over the xmas - new year break.

The Grand Mercure was around the same price, and 100% full. Great little complex, with all the standard amenities, and a couple of shops inside the complex. The apartments are two floors, and have a fireplace, couch, washing machine and dishwasher, etc.

Great stay, but of course hardly earnt any points in A-Club.

Mercure Picton was a dump. Not much positive to say about it...
