Am travelling to GCoast via Sydney this Friday on VB - have 2 hours to kill. Has anyone been to "The Lounge" at Sydney and is it worth the $30 fee? :p

It's quite nice, being the ex-Ansett Golden Wing lounge.

I use my Priority Pass to enter the lounge and I like the setup, plenty of (free) food and drink and Internet terminals.

I'd say it would be worth the $30 fee.

Yes - been to the lounge a few times in Sydney
Yes - its absolutely worth it - if you have the $ spare

the lounge sits to the side/above the food hall in the terminal, but is nice and quiet (surprising giving its location)

A couple of drinks and lunch would set you back at least $25 anyway (wine is $9 a glass down at the cafes - unless you buy a meal deal)

so you might as well get some relax time and I think the food in the lounge is nicer too

I think you can buy a pass with your Velocity points too (should you be so inclined)

Have fun :)

Very much so. Consider the cost of internet access, a few sandwiches, some peace and quiet, and a nice seat... well worth the $30.
Plus ... if you're a drinker it's a no-brainer.

As the others have said if you are going to have a few drinks/snacks and jump on the internet for the few hours then the $30 would be well spent.

Quite a nice lounge actually and relatively quiet (depending on what time your flight is).

I travel Syd-Mel (& Bris on occasion) at least once a month and use the Lounge each time and I think its worth it.

The Virgin Blue Lounges have a diffferent feel to them compared to the QPs. Bit more contemporary in design, and the food is pretty reasonable.

For $30 for a few beers, a bite to eat and a browse of the internet is not cheap, but a much better way to pass an hour or so compared to sitting out in the main terminal.
