I flew to the USA in January, earning the status credits needed to move from Gold to Platinum, on the 13th Jan.

I then flew back a week later, which earned me 150 credits. This was from the 16th to 20th Jan.

But my assessment date is the 21st Jan.

As a result the 150 credits between the 13th and the 21st do not count towards my next round of requalification for Platinum. They just vanish.

I phoned up Velocity and they say that in the terms and conditions it states that they go to partner gifted status, and it is just how it is. I am not happy as 150 credits will do a lot to get me over the 800 needed to requalify for Platinum.

So I stated that this was not what I wanted and was put on hold while the helpful guy went to find a supervisor.

But that did not help. Anything flown in the review period is just gone. This is from the supervisor. It is just in the T&C's and you lose those credits. They say that you get the Platinum membership starting at a later date, and only earn credits from the date of review, not flying.

Beware!

There are a few threads around here regarding "the black hole" that SC's fall into around your review date.

I would suggest you email platinum velocity. They should be able to fix this up for you.

yes we have all been struck by the black hole. Message VFF here and i am sure they will help as they have done for others !

Be smarter for Virgin to fix the issues, must be a pain fixing one flyer at a time when they realise what's happened.

The VFF rep contacted me and within a couple of hours sorted it all out. I am very impressed with the speed and interest taken. Thank you very much!

That's good to hear, what is a problem is for the 1 person satisfied here there are 500 not on this board who through no fault of their own are getting short changed.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Only getting shortchanged if you aren't otherwise going to hit the Plat renewal by the later date.
Otherwise you still get the points for the flights.

And they still count to Lifetime status, oops, VA don't have that :)
