Just like to thank everyone for their input on this forum. I have been traveling for years with no reward.
Now I'm soon to be gold & will have the wife gold by June.
Finally we will all be able to wait in the lounge for our flights.
I now make sure we hit exactly 500 status credits by changing the family pooling arrangements.
One thing I learnt the hard way:
Don't book discount Singapore airline flights as they don't earn status credits or points. There went 160 Status credits down the drain, should of gone to coughet with Virgin, same cost.

Yes, SQ have really dropped their earning potential, there are too many ticket levels that dont qualify for either points or status

It is all one big learning curve, I suspect most here have found something out the hard way. Congrats on the impending Gold status.
