Does anyone know any info regarding Thai's A350 and their proposed routes?

While searching (on KVS with AC search) for MEL-BKK on TG in late October, the aircraft showed up as 359 instead of 777 or 773 like it usually does. All other sources indicate that it's still the 777.

This is what Sabre shows:

128OCTMELBKK~
28OCT FRI MEL/Z‡11 BKK/-4
1TG 466 C9 D9 J9 Z9 Y9 MELBKK 315P 845P 777 M 0 DCA /E
B9 M9 H9 Q9 T9 K9 S9 V9 W9
2OS/TG 8636 J4 C4 D4 Z4 P4 MELBKK 315P 845P 359 M 0 XS DCA /E
Y4 B4 M4 U4 H4 G4 Q4 V4 W4 S4 T4 E4 L4 K4

The TG flight is on 777 but the OZ codeshare of the exact same flight is on the 359!

I suspect we won't know until closer to the time.

I wouldn't be booking TG in the hope it is an A350 just yet.

any idea what the C seat will be?

IMO the 787 is a downgrade from the 773/380 seat, so I'm hoping they don't go with the 787.

TG's reservation system now reflects the A350 change for TG465/466 initially, effective 01JUL whilst TG461/462 changes over to A350 flights from AUG - Making TG's MEL flights A350 exclusive.

Both flights revert back to 777-200/300 equipment from 30OCT, though this might be due to TG not updating its Northern Winter schedule.

Similar C cabin layout to 773.

Thai always referred to the 777-300ER as 773 not 77W.

Yes, but there is the 773 (non-ER) with the 2-3-2 configuration and 77W with the 1-2-1 configuration. Wouldn't it confuse people to also call the 777-300ER as the 773 in this context as people wouldn't know which one it is?

same as those on the 772 in a 2-3-2 layout.
As far as I'm aware, all Thai's 772's have 2-2-2 configuration in business class (which is bad enough).

Still in the schedule as of 1st of July but I can't see that happening at the rate Airbus is getting them out the door.

Not any more! Both MEL flights have 01 Aug start date for A359 now.

Yeah I am still sceptical on that date, Airbus is struggling to actually get the aircraft delivered. CX still don't have theirs though I think that is more to do with the seat manufacturer.

Hope no more delays.. i've a flight in mid Dec on TG461... really hope it will be on the A359..

TG website shows A359 start date of 16 Sep now. And then, only on TG465/6. Looks like TG461/2 is planned from 01 Oct.

It is Thai. By then it may well have been running for a month or two, but they will change the timetable to a 787 and then on the day you travel an old 777 will turn up because they felt like taking it for a spin. ... ;)
