Taxes Heathrow to Cairo

Just grazing through European destinations with points on BA for next year, and was musing about LHR to Cairo. Taxes on this flight are GBP105. But if I look at somewhere like Istanbul, it's GBP35 taxes. (Only twenty quid going Istanbul to LHR, must be a terrorism tax)

Is there something obscenely expensive about Cairo? Or is it a distance thing (both points quotes are the same)?

Anyone with access to tax breakdowns assist me?

Probably the Air Passenger Duty that kicks at GBP80 for premium cabins when leaving the EU.

Never heard of it... I'm only flying economy, does that make a difference?

I think that it is only GBP40 for "not the highest class of service" on flights with more than one class of service. Not sure where the other GBP40 would have come from.

Other than the extra GBP20 APD, the fuel fines is higher.

The YQ on the CAI r/t flight is $182 whilst on the IST flight it is $46

$136 is approx GBP58 plus the GBP20 , makes it an additional GBP78
