Hi Team

Looking at a job which (regrettably) is based in North Sydney.

Office is in Chatswood and as I have little to no desire to actually live in Sydney I am looking at Gosford as an option.

Would be overseas 3 weeks out of 5 so the commute is not as serious an issue for me as it would be for some.

Lifestyle is very important as is acces to a decent junior league club and surf life saving club (for little Gazza) as well as a solid weights gym (for big Gazza):)

Dumb question #1
Whats Gosford like?

Dumb Question #2
Whats the commute like (looking at car to Gosford train station then bike from chatswood/Artemon station to office). Whats it like in a car?

Dumb question #3
Is their another option I should consider (other than staying in Brisbane).

Thanks
Gazza

I used to live in Artarmon, nice suburb but i think a lot more developed now :( I used to have friends that lived way up the train like, almost gosford, seems to me a nice place and the train easy enough.

Since you will be at the airport a lot just take into consideration last trains etc and how that fits with your plane flights as a taxi is not an attractive option at 12:30am for example.

Well, Gosford itself is a bit average (imo) but there's some really nice parts up that way (near the water, but that'll add to the commute time).

The trip in by car would be a nightmare but if you're doing it 2/5 weeks, then maybe tolerable. Train ok but slow at times.

I'd also be thinking about the commute to sydney airport if you're travelling a lot - that'll be even worse than getting to chatswood!

Personally, i'd be looking to live closer if possible (North Shore if you can afford it - Turramurra, Wahroonga etc) as the commute will be tolerable, and you wouldnt have to go to the city at all, plus easy (easier) to get away north for the weekend.

Alternative would i guess be to go the NTL and fly down to syd from there i suppose.

Yeah the beach's look to be the way to go up there.:D

There looks to be services on Sunday arvo (most of my away flights would be Sunday nighters) that would take 2 hours with a stop in central. Thats doable.

Apreciate any feedback from Gosfordians.
