Hi

I am just looking at some flights to Perth for work and Virgin are looking a little cheaper. I was thinking of trying to get a decent flight and potentially use the upgrades (subject to how you can use them). Is there a difference between whY on the 738 and the A330 or a difference between J on the two aircraft?

I am not bothered by IFE at all.

I usually prefer wide body for longer flights and the J seats on the A330 look heaps better then the ones one the 737

If you want to sneak a peak on the A330, its the old 2-class version for EK. The seats were vaguely similar to the CX regional seats, but with the angled beds up front. Y has 32 inches and I think J is around 60-62.

I am guessing you will have slightly more room out the back, and it is a no brainer in J compared to the 737

Upgrade availability should theoretically be a lot better on a330 if that's what you're looking for. There's a lot more J seats.

I have done a few returns on VA Business 737 East Coast and Coast to Coast Business on the a330 and can firmly recommend the a330. The fit-out in the Business cabin in the a330 is a few years older but the seat leather is new. The Food and space was immeasurably better on the a330.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
