SYD lounge closing (or renovations)?

Just saw on MH's website...

Transfer of Golden Lounge Operations to Qantas Lounge at Sydney
From 15 March 2014 onwards, Enrich Platinum and Gold members, and Business Class passengers are invited to the Qantas Lounge at Sydney’s Kingsford Smith International Airport. oneworld Emerald and Sapphire tier-member passengers may also do the same.

The Qantas Lounge is located at:

First Class : Airside Level 4, past Immigration. Enter at Level 3 via the escalator
Business Class : Airside Level 3, past Immigration. Enter at Level 3 via the escalator

Enrich Golden Lounge Access redemption vouchers can be used to access the Qantas Lounge. Just present the voucher to our staff at check-in.

Makes sense to close it, especially when you have the fabulous QF First Lounge there.

am doing J in MAS next wednesday, will report in. thinking the MAS lounge is closed it was only a couple of rooms in the basement anyway

Closed for good, and confirmed by to me during check in on 14 March:
"Today is the last day of operation, you might like to visit it one last time, before it's gone for good."
No big loss really, it was a bit of a hole.
Staff were...not up to scratch either.

Has the departure gate for MH flights been moved closer to the QF lounge? The gates they used previously were really close to their own lounge but now that it's closed... It would make more sense. Anyway, I'll find out next week!
