Hey guys,

I'm looking at booking SYD-LAX-YVR and then LAX-SYD (planning to book a YVR-LAS leg separate, then drive to LAX) in September, flying QF. QF seems to have a "Canada Deal" on at the moment with Sale fares on sale ending today 20 April. The price on QF site is $2032. Does this seem reasonable, or should I hold out and wait for a better deal?

Would appreciate any advice :)

Any need to go through LAX? Air Canada go direct to Vancouver ex SYD. No LAX transit is a great thing!

personally I much prefer NZ via AKL direct to YVR. This also avoids the living hell that is LAX. But I'm guessing that the OP wants the QF points. For QF, the price seems not so shabby and probably would only be slightly lower on occasions, but other carriers will definitely be cheaper.

Good price. We flew Syd-LAX-YVR-LAS-LAX-Syd 2 weeks ago and fares were $2400

Who'd you fly the YVR-LAS leg with? I'm booking that separate to flights with QF. Thinking of Delta/WestJet at ~$200 + baggage fees.

Thanks for your opinion guys.. I think I might just book with QF at current price of $2002 for peace of mind.

definitely agree with SYD > YVR with Air Canada however it's a monopoly so they're expensive. The cheaper and still extremely comfortable option would be SYD > LAX with Virgin Australia and jumping on a Westjet flight from LAX to YVR. Abbotsford/YXX is also an option with Westjet too (40 min from downtown Van).

Thanks for all your opinions!

Ended up booking with QF: SYD-LAX-YVR + LAX-SYD for $2002 in late Sep :)
