suggestions for marriott hotels in NYC

hi guys
my wife and i are going for our final holiday together in July 2017 before we plan to start a family - plan is to do an East coast trip (SQ R already booked) and use a 7-night marriott cert in NYC
i have enough points to go for a marriott cat 8 or even 9 hotel - of which there are more than 30 in NYC alone!
i have marriott gold
what would you guys suggest?

location is most important for us - we like to be right in the middle of all the action. shopping, food, bright lights more than museums are what we want (i.e times square, madison ave etc)
would like a new-ish hotel , "cosy" is fine as we'll be out most of the time.

Marriott Marquis is definitely central and has a very cool internal design

We enjoyed Marriott Marquis with a 4 night stay in Times Square recently. We did 3 shows and two of them were just around the corner namely Hamilton and School of Rock. Billy Joel was on at Madison Square Garden so we walked there.
