Thought I might start this thread so we can determine what the differences are.

I noticed

Brisbane offered;
  • large bottles of complementary water;
  • movies - all you can watch in 24hours for $27;
  • parking - no self park, valet $50/day.
Surfers Paradise offered;
  • small bottles of complementary water;
  • movies - $16 each, no bulk deal;
  • parking - self park $15/day, valet $25/day
Whilst we don't often watch movies, with kids and a rainy day, the BNE deal is great value!

I have found the 24 hour movie deal to be available at HSW, HOP, Cairns and Syd. Last time I stayed at Syd, they hadnt changed their on screen messaging so were advertising it as $24.95 but charging $26.95.

One difference I have noticed is that on checkin at Sydney, they offer breakfast in Glass at the same time as telling you about breakfast in the exec lounge...they are upfront about letting you know both options are available. HSW have let me eat breakfast downstairs but only after I have asked.

Have always received welcome notes from GM, but Sydney is the only one where I also get a gift...one time some packaged fruit and nuts and last time a box of melting moments.

Brisbane is the same with the upfront breakkie offer at check-in.

Had the same experience regarding breakfast in Restaurant at SYD, BNE ( offered on check-in). Had to ask at HSW advised all good. Asked at Hilton Sufers Paradise and told "computer says no". Both them and I thought that I was still Gold at the time ( turns out I wasnt) so not sure whether that made any difference or not. The breakfast at the HSP is not as good as other Exec Lounge breakfasts I have seen, but this is more than made up for by the evening "canapes". Every night there is some sort of hot dish with rice and full- sized dinner plates, along with the usual cheese board, soup and deli selection.

Princess Fiona.. you must have been at HSP on anoff morning. found exc lounge excellent in the evening ( great views and food) and really good in the morning for breakfast - staff still 'new' to the job but so enthusiastic..

Was there for 3 mornings in a row last month. Staff were good but I found the breakfast buffet very underwhelming in comparison to other Exec Lounge buffets I have experienced. 1 x 4 slice toaster, OJ tasted awful as though it had been juiced with the skins on. Micro-sized bagels, no hot food at weekend. Coffee machine is quite good though and the lounge is spacious. I did think the Lounge offerings were improved upon in the evening.
Overall the disappointing breakfast wasn't a deal-breaker for me and I still rate the HSP as a good option for staying in the Gold Coast.

2stays- only one was a w/e.. Don't drink OJ... Tummy thing.. Is that too personal? Had hot food both stays .. Just asked for it when arrived in lounge.

I can vouch for this as well....almost. I'd change the staff description to excellent, rather than good, but the exec. breakfast reminded me a little of the (until recently) DJ lounge....plenty of cold cuts, but missing the sparkle!!

Mind you, we like the full breakfast and have only had the exec continental at Surfers so I can't compare with others. Surfers allowed us full buffet in the Salt grill in lieu this time.
