So my points and SC from 20th Jan finally posted after having to chase them up. But because I made WP on a flight earlier that day, and my Platinum wasn't processed until the 28th it seems those SC are just lost to the ether and it wasn't worth chasing them up - ie. they don't count towards my requalification. Is this correct?

Yes.......and no.
VA have (IIRC), stated that if you fail to requal but those "lost" SCs would have got you over the line, contact them with that explanation and they will review your status on that information. I'm not aware of anyone posting that they ever got to that point to verify the advice given.
