Hi, brand new here (am sure there's a shorthand code for that, but am as yet ignorant :)) so apologies for dumb and repeated questions, tried to search the discussions but have come up empty.

I've got a bunch of future bookings later in the year/early next.. before I get there though I'll organically move from SG to WP. I read somewhere that VA's system wasn't so crash hot recognising status change even when you delete your FF and re-enter it. So far, haven't put my FF info in the booking for that reason. Can anyone say whether that is still an issue and I should wait for the status change before entering it, or put it in for whatever future bookings benefit it may (or likely won't) bring?

Thanks

I've not noticed it as a problem. I would book under SG as you will have better seat selections than Red initially and you should still be able to move seats as you gain more access as WP.

(From the other perspective, I was able to use the WP seat selection for 2 weeks after I officially dropped from WP to SG (and move non-status family on another PNR into the WP zone with me via call centre)

I do know that they are very good at not giving benefits to ex status pax who have dropped a level after booking... So I'm sure they are just as observant for a status upgrade.
As long as the FF number is correct, As far as I am aware it loads in real time in the system.

I've called up and had them remove and reinsert my FF number after a status change to activate better seating options.
