Flying out to the USA on United Business next month - haven't been to the NZ lounge since it reopened recently. But, we enjoyed staying in the SQ lounge last time we flew out on United. Can anybody suggest which one is better to visit?

Many thanks,

j

I prefer SQ. You will be directed to the NZ lounge, but you can use the SQ one.

How about a Trip Report on the UA J experience?

The NZ lounge is light years ahead of its previous re-incarnation. Having been in the SQ J lounge (admittedly prior to the SQ refurb) unless they have seriously upped the ante, the new NZ lounge will be much better.

Similar Question, but for MEL..
Flying NZ in J and having used the Koru Lounge a fair few times, was considering jumping across to the SQ lounge since I have access (Usually just a VA Gold in Y)
Worth it to hop across or not worth the hassle?

I usually find it to be quieter, and easier to get a seat. Food can be better. The drinks aren't kept cold enough IMO. Why not check it out and if you don't like it head on downstairs.

I'm travelling MEL-BKK in TG C class next week (I'm also lifetime *G). Was planning to visit the NZ lounge, but maybe the SQ lounge might be a bit nicer? In my experience though, the matrons fronting SQ lounges tend to make one feel unwelcome (unless flying SQ). Isn't this likely to be the case in MEL?

Theyre literally 1 minute walk from each other so plenty of time to viait both. I prefer the SQ lounge and find the desk staff reasonably friendly to non SQ pax. I dont lose sleep over what they think of me anyway

I've had them tell me once that the NZ lounge is downstairs (*G flying NZ) but immediately granted access as soon as I stated that I would prefer their lounge. They have reminded me at every visit that they do not do boarding calls for any non-SQ flight.

I had the same experience.

Is "lounge hopping" frowned upon (even though one might have access to either)?

I wouldn't say its frowned upon, but if flying another airline SQ especially do 'suggest' the Air New Zealand lounge from what I've been told ( and experienced elsewhere than MEL)
May not be able to hit the SQ lounge anyway, I have a 12:20pm departure and the SQ lounge shuts when their 10:30 departs.

We managed to sneak in for 10 minutes just so blackcat20 could have a look around when we took that flight. But yes, they close not long after calling boarding.

I am on an SQ F 11.15 flight, does that mean no brekky for me in the lounge? I did go in there last year when on a TG F flight and they reluctantly, but politely let me in when I also politely pointed out the huge F printed on the boarding pass.. I was the only person in there and had to carefully peel back the plastic wraps on some brekky things. The lounge serving staff looked at me as being a nuisance I suspect. Maybe I interrupted their smoko.

Out of SYD I'm guessing? The 10:30 closure is for MEL.

Myself and my partner are flying SYD-BKK in TG F next month (thanks LM!) - and it seems that the SQ F Lounge is the way to go. We have a mate travelling with us on the same flight but in Y. My reading of the *A lounge access rules is that we are both able to take a guest to the F lounge.

Anyone had an issue with taking a guest into the SYD SQ F Lounge previously?

I'm flying out of SYD in SQ J next week, I understand that the SQ lounge does not have barista coffee, but the NZ does. If this is the case I'll likely go to NZ for a coffee then head over to KF lounge.

Can someone please confirm this for me?
