Hello all,

I have been looking at flying MEL > SIN on SQ operated but LX marketed flight as a part of a larger e-ticket. However I called NZ Air points and asked for an accrual quote in L class and they looked at me as if I had two heads.... Does anyone know how much I will earn? I like flying QF but want the LX punctuality and flying on SQ does look nice .... Thanks all :)

Which... according to the prediction tool would earn 22 APD and 35 SP MEL-SIN

Assuming L on SQ that is.

Thanks for the help, sorry for late reply. The people at NZ are still unable to answer this .... :/

Often you will find more expertise here than at call centres on FF related matters. Their main role is to book and change flights and handle administrative matters. Information about anything else (such as nuances of programs) is usually better to find on the airline website or a forum such as this. On many carriers, call centre staff don't even have any information about airport services, procedures and facilities, there are numerous posts around about conflicting information from call centres, and nine times out of ten advice on the forum will be more accurate (surpassed in accuracy only by airline website - if the information is uploaded there - or direct queries to airport based airline staff).

2 airlines in an equation is about all my brain usually takes! :p

Right answer, wrong linked table. Star alliance crediting is based on operating carrier, not marketing carrier. You need to look at the SQ table, which is still discount economy.

This is interesting, so keeping L class and SQ operated the same, it looks like if you book via NZ you won't accrue but if you book via another carrier eg swiss then you do accrue.
I'll have to keep that in mind for any future bookings as a work around.
