I have a international flight in PE coming up, I specified "Dairy/Lactose free" in the meal section,
but I"m just curious if I need to call a few days ahead to confirm it, as someone in the call-centre suggested that to me..
OR
just hope that the PE menu has something non-dairy in it ?

edit. for what it's worth I think the choice came up as "low lactose meal" in the drop-down list.

I ordered a special meal last year in P.E on VA, and all was ok. No need to call to confirm.

I assume you mean int'l long-haul. On Short haul and TT, VA don't give a toss. FWIW I called the GCC once only and suitable meals appeared on my SYD-LAX flight despite being up the back of the bus (zoo class). One thing that was annoying was being served well before everyone else... I got to eat in the dark with the person in front practically reclined into my lap.

It wasn't that long ago that travel agents recommended getting the special meal as it would be fresher and of better quality than the standard fare. How times have changed.

another question...

would they let me take soy-milk (prima sized cartons) onto the flight?
I'm assuming if it's under 100ml it should be oK?
