Hey Everyone

I got a chance to stay at the Sofitel on Collins in Melbourne for a couple nights this week and had a truly excellent time. I put together a video review, which you can access below.

I'm an A-Club Plat (who isn't these days), and for once the status was properly recognised which was fantastic. I'll just highlight a few of the best parts

  • Booked cheapest room, got upgraded to Deluxe King room on 45th floor
  • Two free coughtails at the Atrium Bar
  • Welcome gift in my room on arrival - a fruit plate, personalised note from manager, and a half bottle of Moet Imperial (my favorite type of welcome gift).

Other than that the room was extremely comfortable, well appointed and everyone was SUPER FRIENDLY.

I've been meaning to stay there - I must do that one of these days.

Despite staying at Hilton on the Park this week, I actually spent basically all day yesterday (9am-5pm) in the function rooms on level 35 at the Sofitel :)

Nice vid and nice rooms.
Where did the opening flyover sequence come from (not your work I am guessing?)

Does the TV swing out from the wall?

I used to stay at the Sofitel on my annual jaunts to see the Aus Open each January but stopped some years back. Great hotel but the beds were dreadful. I personally found them too soft and woke with a backache daily.

Yep, the TV does swing out. It's hooked up to a surround sound system which is pretty great. I liked the soft beds.
