I'm about to book at the Sofitel Brisbane and I was looking at parking options... the hotel charges $47/night for self-parking and even more for valet parking! Are there any other options nearby for secure parking?

I asked if they give a discount on parking for Accor Platinum but the answer was no :(

Yes, directly over the road from the Sofitel is the Brisbane City Council's Wickham Terrace carpark.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If you are staying on a weekend, Wickham Terrace Car Park directly across the road, offers parking for $5 on a Saturday and $5 for Sunday.

Providing there are spaces left, you can park under my building at South Brisbane for free and catch an uber or public transport, or walk in. Pm if that suits.

Do you know how this works overnight, and if you are departing on a Monday but after 9am? Would you be paying full rates for Monday?

Visited Sofitel last week and thought I would try parking building over the road rather than pay the $47 directly underneath the hotel. I entered the car park at 2.00pm on the Friday afternoon and departed at 7.30 am on the Saturday morning. Cost.....$40. Me personally, I won't do it again

I stayed at the Sofitel on Saturday night. Entered the council Car Park at about 5.00pm on Saturday and left at about 1.00pm on Sunday. Cost $10 (I.e., $5 per day, or part thereof on weekends).

Admittedly may be good value at the weekend, certainly not for anything which includes week days

$5 per day also covers public holidays if that suits.

We ended up getting street parking a street back for free until Tuesday 8am and then will just have to put $5 in the meter until 10am when we need to leave. Good alternative.

You need to be careful when parking on the street in that area. A lot of it is meter parking 7.00am to 7.00pm.
