Do not know if this is so but just wonder if there is a bit of snobbery at Qantas Valet parking every time I get home my BMW 335i is parked as far away as humanly possible from the front door’s, and that the Farrari’s ,Bentley’s, Aston Martin’s and Porsche’s are always at the closest parks to the door just an observation.

Another first world observation:)

They probably want a closer eye on more valuable cars. Wupdnt think its snobbery but common sense if i was the one parking the car?
Mind you your 335i is still very nice car but less likely to be a target by thieves?

As a driver of a Japanese car that gets dumped in Long Term Parking, i'd like to give a snobby look to your BMW. :)

I think it conveys an appearance of impressiveness; this is what Westfield valet parking seem to do too.

Same reason you generally see exotic cars parked on hotel driveways, as apposed to the run of the mill corolla or similar.

It's all about perception.

An interesting observation Wayne. Now that you mention it, I have observed the premium cars being parked loser to the entrance. And some very premium cars there are too. I wonder where they might park my 5 yo jobbie??!!

Same reason they park the nice cars in the driveway at hotels and the rest get sent into the garage. Makes the place look better!

Lexus used to observe car park attendants and what motivated them to look after certain cars over others.

interesting observations indeed.

ask them and gauge their reaction.

I have never used them in Melbourne.

I thought that was the natural order :)

Now if you had said there was a Mercedes A Class parked closer I could sympathise...

It could be the number of days you are away. I drive a BMW X3 and it is often close to the door but I usually travel 1-2 days. You may see the high end cars up front but may not notice others further away. Do you often travel for long duration?

I havent seen this in Sydney and i have a VW Golf..

On a positive note (About Sydney QF V) is i called them on behalf of a business partner who had flown to Melbourne to get a call saying a family member had gone to hospital and wasnt likely to last the day, gave his rego, said what flight he was on and why, was told a few days later that it was sitting infront of the door as soon as the flight landed ready for him. Big thumbs up to Sydney staff when it matters.

Fuzz.
