Embarrassment - just found out why QF changed the small can of Rexona in the Fist Amenities Kit to a roll on, when I used a small can from my bag while freshening up coming into SYD this AM. The triggering of a smoke alarm results in a full crew emergency response, much banging on toilet door and very sheepish shirtless passenger.

Hate roll-ons but almost impossible to find sprays under 100ml/100g

As a roll-on hater, did you go a bit overboard? I've brought my own aerosols (in the much overpriced mini versions) and not had an issue?

Not that I was aware of- it must have been a bit of misdirected spray - but I will revert to roll-on from now on as I do not want to chance a second occurence

Remains sticky. Can't just put a shirt on immediately. Stick deodorants for me.

But jokes aside, I had a 100g Lynx Voodoo confiscated one day, and told that it needed to be under 93g to be under 100ml. So now I carry a small Rexona spray, but it's not the same. :(

Even in hotels I check where the smoke detector is and keep well away when using spray on deoderant. Some hotels have had signs in the bath room to close the door when showering to prevent smoke detectors going off (in Japan).

May I ask where? Because I remember when Lynx first released their "travel size", they started printing 100g / 155ml on the side of the bottles to force you to purchase the 25g size (which was virtually the same price as the proper size).

The reason they did that was because 100g was allowed, but by printing 155ml next to it it meant it was no longer allowed.

93g doesn't even make sense when you're in a 3 ounce country (eg the US) as 3 ounces = 88ml.
