Personally if a person has time to spare, for MEL, and a myki, $3.30/$5 for 2 hrs can get you quite far, on the 901/479 etc...
Plus transfers to trains and trams.
---
And just my luck 3 AOs traveled the whole 901 bus route to past Coolaroo.

Now $23.90 one way or $40 return for an adult.

$34 return via NRMA.

Getting absurd.

Makes the SYD train look reasonably priced, at least gives you a choice of stops throughout the city and pretty much guaranteed timings.
Getting dropped off at the southern cross dungeon with no hotel shuttles is a pretty poor service.....meanwhile the rail link continues to stall.

Wait what another price increase.

I knew I should've stocked up more vouchers on the Christmas sale.

Or using the Mascot/Wolli Creek trick which isn't even that big of a time waste.

In SYD, we Uber when there’s two of us.

MEL is not quite to that tipping point but yeah, there’s a convenience factor also tipping Uber over bus…

The uber rank is very convenient for MEL arrivals.

Unfortunately for departure drop offs the terminal access ramps are back to the pre covid crawl at peak times, can be quicker to drop off at T4 and walk around to T1! Why they can't install traffic lights for the pedestrian crossings is beyond me......anyway rant over

Uber to CBD is what $55-65? Skybus being $40 now for 2 pax makes it quite compelling especially if you're being dropped at your hotel.

Off topic, but missed 2 buses and decided to walk from Mascot to SYD dom. Quite a nice 15 min walk. Couple of elderly with suitcases also strolling along.
