Hi All,

Long time reader, first time poster. Need a one way flight from Singapore to Perth in April 2018 and wanted to maximise SC + points via Virgin/Singapore Airlines. However can't even get virgin website to bring up any fares. Looked at webjet and it shows no virgin fares, and Singapore airlines are almost $900 for the one way. Am I missing something? Or is there an arrangement about one way fares between virgin and Singapore.

Appreciate advice/suggestions on best way to maximise SC earn via most economical means.

Thanks,
-Jamie

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Full Service airlines always charge a much higher fare for one way. Sometimes almost as much as a return ticket.
If you want an economical fare you are going to have to look at a LCC, otherwise you have to pony up the $900 for SG

I believe it is not possible to book any VA codeshare flights ex SIN as it is expected (by SQ being a major shareholder in VA) that you will book on SQ direct.

A return ticket is cheaper than a one way ticket on some occasions flying internationally. TATL flights are the same on most non LCC....

You can still earn Velocity points & SCs by booking direct with SQ, although you would miss out on an eligible "VA" sector towards status attainment.

I had this problem earlier this year so I did KUL-SIN-PERTH , it was around $400 and I got the extra 10sc! I just booked a jestar flight SIN-KUL $40 airfare to postiton in KUL . ms henleybeach thought I was weird and didn't understand what was going on !
