Hey folks - I've been out of the game for a while but I'm going to hit Plat again early next year (if not before).

I've booked some flights with Singapore Air MEL-SIN-NRT return for my partner and I in March and I have about half a Velocity million points I want to start burning before they get devalued so I was hoping to perhaps use V points to upgrade. Is this at all possible? Would I need to xfer points to Krisflyer?

I have an old Krisflyer account but I can't login and when I reset the password it gives "unexpected error" so I'll need to follow that up with them directly but thought you guys might have some sage advice on my options?

Cheers!

I believe your Krisflyer account may have expired, due to inactivity. You can't reinstate it, so just create a new one. At least you then have options for transferring.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yes you do need to xfer VA points to yr Krisflyer acct. Follow the prompts on your 'My Velocity' page to 'Link & Transfer'. Exch rate is 1.55 VA per 1 KF and the exchanged points will show up within a day (usually/wog/etc)

Thanks guys - great info. I'm on K class so I think I'm out of luck :/

Yep. That’s the class I usually fly. You could always treat yourself to some exit row seats instead. If you do decide to buy seats with $ or points, make sure you put your KrisFlyer number in at the time (you can change it to Velocity later) because there’s a 10% discount on seat purchase for KrisFlyer members who don’t have status.

Another great tip, thanks! :D
