Hi guys

I'm flying Swiss air from paris-zurich-singapore-perth on 28 August (all flights except the last leg is on Swiss air booked on the same ticket). I need to make the connections and be home to make a separate flight to a conference in Brisbane the very next morning.

Only issue is the 50min connection in Zurich. I've googled and it seems they do these short connections regularly without problems. Further googling shows only 40% of the first leg (paris to Zurich) was on time in the past month.

Anyone had issues/experience with swiss air short connections? I'm a little anxious but don't want to burn extra money trying to shuffle flights.

Thanks!

50 minutes is doable but tight as you'll have to clear immigration (leaving Schengen zone) and transfer between terminals (short train ride) plus security.

If you absolutely cannot miss the flight out of ZRH you should attempt to get an earlier flight (if available?) or the night before. While your flights will be covered by EU261, the compenation isn't going to make up for missing the conference.

50 mins is doable under normal circumstances, but if there's a delay on the inbound you could be in trouble.

I've had no issues with short connections in ZRH, it's a very good airport. But it's still risky IMHO if you absolutely must get back to Perth on time, especially when your inbound flight is from CDG.

Update: all went well and I made it home. It was a short connection in Zurich but made it comfortably. There was immigration control to pass through but no security on transit in Zurich.
I thought I'd have more time in Singapore with 1hr50min connection but boarding time (on my boarding pass) was 1hr before my flight and after a bit of walking etc didn't have much down time.
