Between my wife and I we have the following points.

AMEX 115,769
Citibank Reward
41,000
Qantas
75,000 + 220000
Krisflyer
150,000
Virgin Velocity 125,000
Enrich
10,000
Total 736,769
We have also joined American Airline Advantage (AA Advantage) program as I learnt from one of the earlier forums that AA is also One World alliance partners and AA Advantage offers better redeemption deal than Qantas and can still travel on Qantas.

My questions are:
1. What is best way of using my points?
2. How do I transfer my points over to AA?
3. How do I redeem my points in AA Advantage and travel on Qantas or any one of the One World Alliance partners as it is not clear from the AA website.

Many thanks for your advice.

Re: 1. You have to give us more of an idea of what you want to do. ie to fly in Business Class, to fly to Europe...to get as many economy tickets as possible so that you can fly your family of 5 to Europe etc.

Re; 2 You can only get the Amex points to AA via SPG. Read the AA threads.

Re; 3. Read the AA threads..it is all there.

Other

1/ Think about redeeming points at Krisflyer. Their fuel fines are high...but there Saver Awards are good value..particularly in J. You save 15% by booking on-line...and at present can save 25-50% as there is a special if you can fly by this Sept.

At 15% off 127K will get you to Europe in J.

2/ With SQ you can also redeem using Star Alliance Rewards which for many destinations are excellent value.

3/ You can move both your Amex and Citibank points to SQ.

4/ Note that if you can fly by end of May that Malaysian alos have 50% off.

5/ Your QF points have to stay at QF. However note that you can get RTW Oneworld redemptions which are good value.

ie 140,000 points for RTW in economy. You have 295K..so you and your wife can book that now.

6/ With your Virgin points...watch there site for specials as Virgin seem to often have great specials (ie discounting the point cost) to LA (I assume because the planes are empty). You can transfer your CC points there if required to top-up.

In Summary
...unless you are actually flying a lot on paid tickets that can earn points to AA you may weel be better served by reddeming elsewhere.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thank you lovetravellingoz for a very clear and concise advice.
Given the uncertainty about the future of the QF FF program, I would try to redeem my points as soon as possible.
