I need to travel to Europe between either 29 June and 3rd July 2018. Ultimately I need to end up in Milan, but am happy to fly to anywhere in Europe. Obviously I'd like to secure business class flights using the "Saver" fare. There seem to be some available, but not too much. Having not much experience with KrisFlyer, is it likely that there will be any more available over time, or should I just snap up what's available now?

Just snap up what is available now. You can also waitlist your preferred option. As you are looking at going in a peak period, availability will reduce quickly.

Thanks for the quick reply. So it's possible to book say option B which can then be transferred to option A if waitlisted?

Even if you don`t have enough miles or if you do you can make a dummy booking with the option of confirming and paying for it later.

Call up and add the waitlist to your booking so that if the waitlist comes through it will change your booking from the origjnal to the waitlisted flight. Rather than having 2 separate bookings and having to cancel one.

Are you sure? That's not the case AFAIK - while you can do a dummy booking to see what's available, in my experience, if you don't have enough miles you can't proceed past the stage where you select flights.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Cant do it online . But do it over phone . Let them know you expect some points to come throigh from cc etc .

Good to know thanks. Any idea how long they will hold the seats for? I'm in a situation where the flight I want is available now and I have more than 50% of the points required, so I can book now if I pay for the remainder of the points. However, by the middle of next week I'll have enough points to book outright, which would be preferable.

Should Be able to give u until next week in the first instance easily. If they don't u can call and request another extension .

They will only give you three days.

ie I made a booking on 19th July from Milan to Melbourne for 2 in J on SQ metal and had to transfer points from my Amex in order to pay for it.

From the email confirmation:

Your booking will be cancelled if it is not completed by 22 Jul 2017, 13:00 (GMT +8).

From my experience you can request an extension .
I reserved a flight for oct end in June and have yet to make payment.
Though YMMV

So I can fly to Rome (777), Frankfurt (A380) or Dusseldorf (A350).

Any reason to pick one over the other? I flew back from Dusseldorf last week on the A350 and was impressed, although Rome probably makes the most sense as it's easier to get to Milan.
