Hi AFFers,

Wondering if you could help clarify something for me..

Mr jujay is currently on silver level - about 270 SC. We are taking a J trip next month which would net us 1020 SC between the 2 of us. I have set up my SC/points to pool to his account (I am currently on the base tier). So this would put him at 1290 SC. Given that we both travel about the same amount as each other, should I continue to pool into his account, or would it be better that we switch and start pooling everything into my account?

It is unlikely we will get enough SC to requalify for platinum next year..

Thanks in advance!

jujay, the requal countdown for plat starts the same time as your status upgrade. DJ do give a "soft" landing so Mr jujay will get gold even if no flying is undertaken in that subsequent year. Status downgrades also only happen after 1 month following renewal date (effectively giving an extra month on each tier).

As for the best options.....well only you can decide that. If you both fly together, choose the recipient and stick with it (as it may work in your favour, depending upon booking dates). Platinum would be nice (I wouldn't know ) but don't discount gold. Still very worthwhile (for me at least).

Thanks swanning_it :) Since I doubt he will requal for plat, I wasn't sure if the excess status credits that I continue to pool to him would be "wasted", and better off pooled to myself.
