Has anyone else had any trouble getting their accounts updated from Rydges? This has been a real problem for the past 2-3 months for me.

I've earned their Platinum status, but still no updates.

Thanks

Also Platinum but only one stay not updated back in February, quick e-mail via their 'claim missing points' link sorted it within 24 hours.
I find Rydges are very good at posting points and this is the only instance for me in almost 3 years, was from a stay at Sydney World Square if that has any relevance....

I've never had problems and when I did their "Claim Missing Points" quickly cleared it up. I've only been having problems in the past couple of months where points aren't updating and I'm not getting responses from contacting them.

I have stayed 31 nights with Rydges this year and they are showing up on my Rydges priority guest online. From what I understand 25 nights in a calendar year will qualify as platinum. I thought it would have been put up to the platinum level automatically. Is there something I need to do? Or should I just wait a bit?

Platinum is a funny thing. I have been Rydges Platinum for many years, but to actually qualify is frustrating. I remember my PA booking unqualifying nights and after 3 weeks was no better off - no status credits etc, however, other bookings crediting.

Also, if you look at the T&C of Platinum, you will see that it is "by invite"

Get on the phone rather and have a chat - you may find that you stayed a whole heap of unqualifying nights - or the programme manager does not like your tie ;)

Finally with the help of an email from the manager of a hotel I have made platinum with Rydges.

They did say in the email "Due to technical issues the automatic upgrade didn’t come through and we are only just now able to generate your upgrade to Platinum Status.".

So if others have stayed enough to make platinum you might need to manually request the upgrade for it to go through.

I've stayed enough (should be on qualifying rates as they've all credited ok) to make Platinum. Trying to decide whether to wait and watch for it to update, or email/call and harass. Qualifying stay was made a few days before Christmas.

Any other recent updates on whether things are automatic or still taking a long time? Have a printout of the "stays" page to help prove my case if things get complicated.

Also -- anyone else notice they've "enhanced" the Platinum 50% off food+drink to limit the guests / reduce the discount? (also saving capped at $500).

I wonder if that's because of people like munitalP ;) :D

Well here's the new rules:

(iv) the Member presents their Membership Card when the bill is presented, prior to payment or room charge

The shareholders discount has also been reduced to 25% (used to be 50% as well for up to 10ppl).

Ended up emailing. Took about 4 days, but I have been upgraded now.

Well done! It does take some work, but other than organising the upgrade they've been pretty good.

In my opinion, the platinum membership is really good value.

I've been Platinum a number of years, and I have to agree, even with the latest changes, you can still bend the rules to your advantage if in a group as we have done many times at AFF drinks nights!
