Hello,

Has anyone had any luck in getting a refund on a cancelled non refundable Internation ticket with QF. Recently I had to cancel an o/s trip due to health issues. My ticket was cancelled by my Agent and I was told I can use the ticket up until May next year, i.e 12 months after the original booking.

My health issues have not abaited and I was hoping I could approcah QF and ask for a refund. Would a letter from my Doctor help.

Thanks for any thoughts.

I doubt you will have any luck achieving something thats against the terms of the ticket sale, have you investigated if this was covered by travel insurance as part of a credit card?

Sad to hear, I hope your circumstances change soon :)

Yes I think you can receive a refund if you contact QF and provide a letter from your doctor advising your situation and inability to travel.

Wow,

Thanks for the fast replies. I had not thought of the credit card angle. Thanks heaps. I'm a bit slow at times.

No worries, I hope things improve for you, maybe a revalidation for another 12 months might be possible, to give things time to mend!

No example with Qantas but have had a non refunable airfare refunded by Thai in 2006.

Booked SYD-ATH flights for my mother for travel in August 2006 and my father returned from Greece early and had to have a heart operation. Called agent to cancel flights and he put a request in to Thai for refund on non-refundable airfare and by December we had the refund less $300 cancellation fee.

Overall a good outcome.
