Redemption Booking Ticket Issue Fail - Payment on hold

Hi all,

Trying to book my first redemption with SQ (2 Suites from SYD-SIN rtn) and having some serious difficulties with SQ.

I spoke to the call centre to get my itinerary as I wanted a flight that was waitlisted, but wanted to book the following day which was available as well as register for the wait list. Everything was ok and the itinerary was sent through to my e-mail.

I logged on and tried to get the booking ticketed, only to get an error message stating that "Due to a technical error, we cannot issue your tickets right now. Your credit/debit card hasn't been charged although the amount has been placed on hold. We've requested for your bank to release the hold, which is expected to be processed in a few days. Our reservations office will be in touch with your booking. For urgent assistance, get in touch with your local Singapore Airlines office. We apologise for the inconvenience."

I called SQ and they had no idea and tried to charge me again (which I advised I didn't want them to do). ANZ have said the transaction has gone through to them but SQ need to 'accept the payment' otherwise it will bounce back after 6 days. SQ have no record of this and keep suggesting we try charge the card again and insist the original funds will bounce back to me (however I'd prefer not to debit by account by another $1100, even if the original will bounce back).

From what I've heard this is an intentional hold by SQ as it's my first redemption, but SQ have no idea and the local Sydney office just transferred me back to SQ.

At the moment all I can think to do is wait for ANZ to show the transaction on my statement, or for the funds to bounce back and then try again. Very frustrating as I tried to book on Monday night and it's now Thursday and the issue isn't resolved :(

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any tips?
 
I had this exact situation happen on my first redemption. Called up SQ and they finalised the booking over the phone. I was only ever charged once on my credit card (used it online and got your error message, and then over the phone).

Update: The original payment bounced back, I called SQ, they took payment and issued the tickets over the phone. All sorted :)
